It was a rainy evening and what is better than going for something hot and nourishing? In that case, steamboat would be the perfect choice we thought. We headed to HoJia, (formerly known as Pulau Ketam Steamboat) which was previously operating next to the famous Ho Ho Steamboat in Seri Petaling but have since re-located to the upper floor of a Bandaraya food court in Jalan Mega Mendung, Klang Lama.

Each platter comes with fish, fresh prawns, crabs, fish balls, green vegetables, mushrooms and two types of mee accompanied by two eggs.
The soup base here has got nothing to shout about but won’t get any complaints either. I’ve certainly tasted much better one and I believe the secret to a good soup lies in the natural flavours from the ingredients. It is the juices from the fresh ingredients that make the soup taste so great.
Among the items available for your steamboat picking are pork slices or fish fillet, shimeji, abalone mushrooms and fresh mushrooms, soft beancurd, deep fried beancurd, spinach, wanton, dumpling, spinach and young cabbage. All were extremely fresh, especially the seafoods.

Diners have the flexibility to add on ingredients they like at additional charges. They can also request for special ingredients like types of fish and meats of their choice, or even bring some along, just like us once you become a regular to this place.
