Tong San (東山) @ Salak South Garden

Wifey had the urge for a bowl of piping hot fish head noodle on a wet, rainy day so we drove over to Salak South garden where we last saw a banner advertising it. Alas, the stall was nowhere to be seen. We were left with the choice of either Hokkien mee at Kim Lian Kee or Tong San which was just down the road. We settled for the latter since we were quite hungry and to be honest, I was rather lazy to drive to Old Klang road. 

Hokkien Mee (炒福建面) @ RM 5.50 ~ The version here was a little runny compared to Mun Wah and Kim Lian Kee, but still a joy to savor.

Fish Head Noodle (魚頭米) @ RM 5.50 ~ Tasted rather bland, lacked of the sourish taste and definitely short of Chinese wine. The saving grace was the Song fish (松鱼) which was fresh.

Stir-fry flat rice noodle with beef (牛肉河) @ RM 6.00 ~ Beef was succulent but unfortunately, the flat rice noodle (河粉) was lumpy. 

Meal wasn’t too satisfactory and laden with MSG during this visit. Must be the chef having a bad day. Nevertheless, if you are around the neighborhood, dining alone or with a group looking for a simple meal at a clean coffee shop, TS is worth a try as the prices here are reasonable. Besides, they do offer a good variety of other dishes such as fried yam abacus, steamed fish, sweet sour pork rice, Hainanese noodle and toast, just to name a few. If you are planning a visit, do be warned that parking under the voltage power lines in the area after 630pm may result in having your vehicle bombarded by swallow droppings!
