Garden View Restaurant (枫林品鮮馆) @ Kampung Bukit Tinggi, Bentong, Pahang

As I was leaving Genting Highland, CK suggested we go for lunch at Restaurant Mushroom Farm but I was a little reluctant to drive all the way up the hill just for lunch, hence, Kampung Bukit Tinggi was the chosen destination.

As we reached KBT, we passed this restaurant and found the view pretty good, but we KIV it as we want to check out others before we decide. Perhaps we might discover something nice I thought? As other restaurants further in didn’t impress us, we turned back to Garden View Restaurant.

Parking was aplenty. No headache!

Place was clean, airy, spacious and comes with a good view.

CNY set menu available if you wish to dine here over the auspicious festival.  You may choose and pick individual dishes from the set meals though but I wonder how they are gonna charge so we went for the a’la carte menu instead.

The waitress recommended all sorts of “expensive” dishes like the abalones, empurau fish ect, ect.. making us feel like a sheep getting readied for slaughtering! Well, we truly understand as this is part of their job! Good sales means good bonuses!!

Finally, we picked our own dishes instead of the waitress’s recommendation as we were not ready to burn our pockets!

Deep Fried Stuffed Bean curd Skin @ RM 10.00 ~ Bean curd skin stuffed and wrapped with minced pork, prawns and dried shrimps and deep fried to crispiness. Looks normal but tasted real good! Tasty even without the “thousand island”sauce, which I prefer!

Braised Pork Guang Xi Style (广西式焖花腩肉) @ RM 12.00 ~ Nicely presented and the 1st piece was good with the nice amount of fat accompanying it. The remaining slices wasn’t that pleasant as it was rather tough! Gravy was tasty!

Steamed River Prawn (清蒸大头虾) @ RM 32.50  ~ This was good! Just look at the amount of roe on its head! Cooked to perfection! Cholesterol?? What is that? Eat first, worry later!

A reasonably priced meal at only RM 66.00 inclusive of 2 apple juice (RM 8.00), a chrysantemum tea (RM 1.50) and 2 plain white rice (RM 2.00).  They do have many other choices to sample from and will come back to try it out on my next visit! Btw, this is the branch of the famous Restoran Foon Lock (609-233 0170) located further down the road and they do have another outlet in Rampai Business Park in Setapak, KL, by the name of Canton Kitchen (603-4149 8802) Check it out guys!
