Crystal Jade Kitchen (翡翠酒家) @ Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

What do you do on Sundays?? Well, most of you would have a good rest after partying until wee hours on a Saturday nite, others get up early and do marketing but for us, we attend Sunday mass and bring the kids out occasionally for some window shopping. This time, we decided to head to Pavilion. Before the shopping spree began, we decided to breakfast  at Crystal Jade Kitchen. The restaurant was relatively empty as we walked in. Hmn…did we make the right choice? Or perhaps, the crowd usually comes in after 11am?

Simple setup with ample seats. We opted for the banquette seating which they only have in two rows, one row on the left of the entrance and the other row located right at the back of the restaurant.

Steamed Ground Peanuts (蒸花生) @ RM 3.00 ~ It’s optional. One may tell them to take it back if they think it’s pricey. I personally felt it is so for this small little plate.

Chinese Tea (中国茶) @ RM2.00/per glass ~ Refillable Jasmine Chinese tea.

Dry Noodle with BBQ pork (捞叉烧面) @ RM 10.00 ~ T opted for this and she found the sauce too sweet to her liking but nevertheless she finished everything as the BBQ pork (叉烧) was tasty and the noodle was springy. A 7/10!

Dry Noodle with Roast Duck (捞烧鴨面) @ RM 11.00 ~ Wifey & E went for this and I ended up eating E’s as he changed his mind upon seeing what I ordered! Bugger!! Roast duck was good and the same springy noodle gives you the nice feel upon chewing! Gravy was rather sweet, same used on T’s BBQ pork! An 8/10!

BBQ Twin Meat Rice (双味烧臘飯) @ RM 13.50 ~ Ta-Da! My order but soon became E’s food! He changed his mind and swapped with mine the minute he saw the crispy and succulent roast pork (燒肉) and the roast duck (燒鴨)! Fickle!! Tasty and a 9/10!

CJ Steamed Pork Dumpling (上海小籠包) @ RM 10.80 ~Tasted alright but nothing great. The skin is rather thick! Still DTF serves the best siew loong bao! A 5/10!

Steamed BBQ pork bun (叉燒包) @ RM 7.00 ~ Fluffy bun and tasty bbq pork filling. Worth the value! A 9/10!

The bill came to RM 68.20 inclusive of a 10%+5% for this simple breakfast. Is it worthwhile? Well, I guess that’s the price you need to pay when you dine in Pavilion. I’ll come back for others!
