Ong Swee Hoe Duck & Chicken Drumstick Mee Suah (温瑞和/鸭腿鸡腿面线)@ Sungai Pinang, Penang

This morning we were starving coz Nick & Lily was late as we’ve arranged for breakfast at 0930. This lovely couple only turned up at 1030! Time management?? Well, we forgave them as they need to travel all the way from Simpang Empat to Batu Ferringhi. Traffic must be bad! To make up for being late, Nick offered to bring us to this hawker area to savour some nice food.

This hawker center is located along Jalan Sungai Pinang and to be precise, it’s smacked right in front of the Honda car showroom.

Upon Nick’s recommendation T & I went for the Duck Drumstick Mee Suah but has since sold out so I changed to Chicken Drumstick mee suah instead whereas Nick & Lily settled for the duck meat mee suah. It was just 10:40 and the duck drumsticks has already sold out! It must be good! Too bad we missed it!

Double boiled soup with chicken, duck & pork ribs all lining up to be savour by the herbal soup lovers!

Duck Meat Mee Suah (鸭肉面线) @ RM 4.00 ~ Nick & Lily’s bowl of noodle comes with tender duck meat and nicely textured mee suah soaked in the rich herbal soup base along with wolfberries (枸杞) and some angelica sinensis (当归). Pretty oily though and the meat tasted rather bland but the soup is tasty!

Chicken Drumstick Mee Suah (鸡腿面线) @ RM 4.00 ~ The order where T & I had. Tasted similar to the duck meat mee suah except this is with chicken drumstick. It tasted just as bland! Ingredients are the same too but I do like the soup!

It’s definitely worth the while with the price they are selling here, even without the mee suah! There’s no way we can enjoy a bowl of double boiled herbal soup at this kinda price in KL! Will certainly come back for the Duck Drumstick Mee Suah (鸭腿面线) the next round!
