We were craving for seafood and there’s no place better to have them besides Klang, a town famed for its fresh seafood. There are many restaurants here which boasts about their dishes but honestly, not many passed and even some famous ones dropped drastically in their standard.
It was some decades ago when I last patronize this seafood restaurant. Nothing much changed and I can still remember vividly the location and the setup of the place.
Still the same ol’ look. They kept it real clean and tidy. An air-conditioned section is available too. As it was raining, we opted for the non a/c section.
Why this kinda plastic soy sauce plates I wonder? Ever heard of saving the planet huh??!!
Spicy peanuts @ RM 2.00 ~ Gone within seconds as all were hungry. Tahan 1st! Something is better than nothing!
Steamed Fresh Water Prawns (清蒸明蝦) @ RM 40.00 ~ Fresh and sweet. I always prefered this way of preparation so you may taste the freshness of the prawn. A little pricey though for that size.
Teochew Steamed Fish with Mee Hoon (潮州蒸魚米粉) @ RM 39.00 ~ The Red fish (紅魚) was super fresh as BIL warned them before hand that if he tastes any staleness from it he’ll have it return. Guess that “warning” kinda worked!! The sourish soup and the rice vermicelli blended well. Great stuff!
Mini Wok Bean curd with Minced Meat (鍋子肉碎豆腐) @ RM 15.00 ~ There was a mixed reaction on the table over the taste of this dish. Half liked it and the other half differed. I personally felt it was alright only. The gravy is filled with the aroma from the capsicums. Bean curds were so so only.
Stir-fry Kangkong Belacan (马来风光) @ RM 9.00 ~ Water Convolvulus (空心菜) or more known as (蕹菜) locally is crunchy and filled with wok hei (镬气) but the belacan is so empowering and way too salty.
Sweet & Sour Crab (甜酸螃蟹) @ RM 34.00 ~ This meat crab was a let down. Crabs were not fresh and smelled foetid. The gravy was a far cry from the ones I normally had. Too sweet to my liking. We didn’t even finish it. BIL should have warned them over the freshness of the crabs too.
Reasonably priced @ only RM 145.50, what more can we asked for? We have fish, prawns & crabs on the table! Despite being served the poorly cooked crab, we still had an enjoyable meal. Staffs are helpful and the lady boss is very friendly. We wanted to savor their signature soft shell crab but they are not available. You have to pre-book in advance. You might also want to check out their duck and the same rule applies, call 2 days in advance and lastly, this is a HALAL establishment! Sorry, PORK lovers!
