Sang Har Noodle @ Section 19, Petaling Jaya (Ceased Operation)

It’s been awhile since we last met up with Uncle R and Aunt S. Without having any idea of where to meet and eat, we left the option to them. They suggested this place by the name of Sang Har Noodle. Located at the corner of the road that leads to SS2, this place can be easily spotted as it’s a corner shop with a flashy red signage. Reserved parking are available in front of the restaurant for diners. It can be a hassle to find one during peak hours though. As it was a Sunday and we were rather early, that wasn’t an issue.

Sang Har Noodle ~

Comfy & clean setup with an option of alfresco dining and two cubicals for those who requires privacy.

Alfresco dining ~ Too hot for afternoons!

Adjoining unit ~ With private cubicals

Chinese Jasmine Tea @ RM 6.00 (2 pax)

Braised Loofah with Bean curd (絲瓜豆腐) @ RM 15.00 (medium) ~
Loofah was soft and the bean curd was soaked with yummy gravy.

Claypot Chinese Cabbage with Yam (煲仔芋头小白菜) @ RM 20.00 ~ This was highly recommended by uncle R but I didn’t quite enjoy it. The yam mixed with veggie looked very starchy and filling, I still prefer my stir fry veggie. Wifey likes it though!

Deep Fried ShaTin Chicken (沙田烧乳鸽) @ RM 24.00 (RM 8.00/pc) ~
This was great! The skin is crispy and the meat is succulent and juicy. Should have ordered more so that I’ll be able to slowly rip them apart and enjoy it with a mug of cold beer!

Steamed River Patin in Superior Soy Sauce @ RM 54.00 (RM 8.00/100g) ~
Fresh, sweet and superior sauce goes well with it. Well worth the price!

Watermelon platter is on the house. Certainly helps after a filling meal!

Red Bean Paste (紅豆沙) @ RM 4.00 ~
Uncle R ordered this and I had a spoon to try it out. Smooth and not overly sweet. As I’m not a dessert fan, I thought this was rather ok.

Lunch came to RM 143.55 inclusive of 4 plain white rice @ RM 1.50 each with a 10% service charge. You guys must be wondering what happened to the Sang Har noodle which is suppose to appear in this review which we did not order. I wonder why too??!! I must have missed it! Another thing is, how in the world did the owners come up with this name in the 1st place where it’s more like a Chinese style restaurant? Anyway, we were satisfied with the food as well as the service. Staffs are pleasant and courteous. Will come back again and make sure we remember to order the Sang Har noodle!
