Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee (金莲记) @ Jalan Klang Lama

For those who love fried Hokkien mee, the name Kim Lian Kee from Petaling Street is often mentioned. However, I have no idea that KLK has branches at other areas, so we were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this one along Jalan Klang Lama (opposite plaza Prima). Wonder if it’s a branch or just having the same name coincidentally.

Fried Hokkien Mee (炒福建面) @ RM 6.00 (single serving) ~ The look of it makes one salivate, what more the aroma that came with it! Tasty, not too wet and served on banana leave and laden with crispy pork lard! No regrets!

Cantonese Fried Noodle (滑蛋陰陽) @ RM 6.00 (single serving)Deep fried mee hoon and koay teow (flat rice noodle) drenched in silky smooth egg gravy and cooked in good wok flavor. Generous amount of pork slices, choy sim and prawns can be found hidden beneath the tasty gravy. Nice albeit being a little salty.

Besides selling fried noodles, this place serves other simple side dishes as well. Service is prompt as there are 3 chefs at the woks! A wonton mee (餛飩面) and a fried lobak stall operates in the same open court. Place is clean and windy but parking can be a little tricky here as it’s just by the main road. You may park at the back lane though where parking space is ample.
