Uncle Botak Chu Char (光头叔煮炒) @ Taman United, Jalan Klang Lama

Eating out on Friday’s is not a norm for us as we usually have homecook food on weekdays. What makes today an exception? Well, wifey felt like having the Cantonese flat rice noodle (滑蛋陰陽) and so we adjourned to this shabby looking place for some good chu char (煮炒). We have tasted some nice food here awhile ago. If you’re the type that emphasize on nice eating environment then this is not the place you would like to visit. Most of the tables are placed in the open parking space  between two blocks of shops . You may even have the choice  to sit  along the shop corridors or inside the coffee shop.

This place is quite popular amongst the Taman United folks and the neighbouring residents simply b’coz the food are delicious and price is on the reasonable side.

Sweet & Sour Pork Rice (咕嚕肉飯) @ RM 7.00/single serving ~ Served with rice and generous portion of pork meat instead of just flour coatings earns itself a 9/10!

Clams in Superior Soup (上汤啦啦) @ RM 18.00 ~ This dish makes a good side dish to go with noodles  or one can just eat it  on its own. The aroma of Chinese rice wine fills the air as this dish was served. Opened clams with its flesh intact goes to show the freshness of it. Discovered some rubbery ones towards the end and could be caused by the boiling soup on the burner! Slightly overpriced! A 6/10!

Cantonese Fried Flat Rice Noodle & Rice Noodle (滑蛋陰陽) @ RM 5.00/single serving ~ Stir fried flat rice noodle (河粉) & deep-fried rice noodle (米粉) combined with thick egg starch gravy and ingredients such as pork meat, prawns & vege’s with good “wok hei” (镬气) simply makes it delicious!  Wifey’s favourite! Go check it out! A 9/10!

Stir-fry Chinese cabbage (清炒奶白)) @ RM 8.00 ~ Crunchy & fresh!! A 10/10!

Curry Vegetables (菜咖哩) @ RM 12.00 ~ I simply enjoy this dish! Semi thick yummy-licious gravy is amazing! I love it! A 10/10!

Marmite Pork Ribs (妈蜜排骨) @ RM 10.00 ~ Pork ribs are cooked to perfection, not raw and the amount of Marmite and honey used are very well-adjusted. This is the best Marmite pork ribs i’ve tasted thus far! A 10/10!

4 seasoned Chefs & Co-owners of United chu char (煮炒) at work!

As I was busy taking photos on the dishes i ordered, a lady captain (Blossom) came over and courteously asked me if there’s any problem with the food! She thought i was going to lodge a report over the food with the photos as evidence!! So funny! I explained my purpose and she was relieved after that! She told us that they do have weekend specials and invited us to come over to taste them! I would, definitely!
